Our Spring Lunch of Shepherds Pie and Fizz was once again held at the home of Strone and Alex Macpherson, immediately following on from which some members went on the arranged tour in Dorset. The day was mixed, with showers and some rather weak sun but as always some hardy souls came in their open tourers with hoods down, well wrapped up against the poor weather. We had a very high turnout, sone 60 members with a good mix of cars, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed themselves in convivial company, helped by copious glasses of Champagne (obviously only the non-driving members!) and splendid and generous helpings of shepherds pie and sublime treacle tart. Those members who were not carrying on to the start of the Dorset tour said their farewells at around 3.00pm and those who live in the west country were able to follow some of the members leaving for the tour as far as Shaftesbury – a splendid sight on the old A30!
