A Fun Day at Brooklands, Sunday 7 May 2017

Brooklands is arguably the most famous and historic home of both motoring competition and early aviation. It houses not only the fabulous museum of cars but also a fascinating collection of aircraft from early bi-planes to Concorde. The motor circuit (or race track) was the first purpose-built banked motor race circuit in the world. The track was opened on 17th June 1907 with a luncheon attended by most of Britain’s motor manufacturers, followed by an informal inauguration of the track by a procession of 43 cars, one driven by Charles Rolls.

Following on the heels of last year’s Sandhurst event, we have planned a day to include a few untimed driving challenges; an opportunity to ascend the Test Hill (352 feet long, with an average gradient of 1:5) and to try out your courage on the remaining part of the original Members Banking.
